Seau suit joined with Pa. NFL concussion case

PHILADELPHIA (AP) a' A family suit on the suicide of Pro Bowler Junior Seau (SAY'-ow) has been combined with NFL concussion litigation in Philadelphia. A key reading in the case is placed for a few weeks, when lawyers for tens of thousands of former participants will try to help keep the matter in federal court. The claims are wanted by the NFL heard in arbitration. The Seau suit is being moved from California, where the 43-year-old died this past year of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His family's lawsuit says he maintained crazy strikes during his career that induced traumatic brain injury, depression and eventually his death. The player lawsuits accuse the league of hiding the hazards of repeated blows to the mind, a state the league denies. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy says the category does not prepare any extra remark prior to the April 9 court fights.
