Fulham compared to. Chelsea: Final report 0-3 in simple gain for Blues - SB Nation

Chelsea were just a little too best for their West London competitors on Wednesday. Chelsea solidified their Champions League standing on Wednesday evening, perfectly downing their West London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage. As the first half-hour of play was stimulating for the Cottagers, a by David Luiz changed the overall game completely, and winners were eventually run out 3-0 by the Blues. The overall game was somewhat uneventful and very even before the Luiz target, which surprised Fulham in to providing very little opposition for these 60 minutes. It came notably out of nowhere, with Luiz upgrading from his main security situation and deciding to simply take what seemed to be a speculative shot from 35 yards. It swerved in a way that made it extremely difficult for Mark Schwarzer to prevent, directly into the utmost effective corner to provide Chelsea a 1-0 lead. Fulham did have one decent opportunity ahead of the end of the first half, in the 36th moment, when Petr Cech was forced in to a end on a low opportunity by Urby Emmanuelson. Chelsea hit straight back just six minutes later, but, extending their lead. Soon after a corner, Juan Mata crossed to the post and discovered John Terry, who'd lost Philippe Senderos. Schwarzer's positioning wasn't precisely good both, and he was easily defeated at his near post. As Rafa Benitez is susceptible to do, he'd his side start the 2nd half in a very careful approach, protecting their two-goal lead. The first occasion in the 2nd half of any real notice came in the minute, when Mladen Petric accidentally blocked a from Senderos off the point while wanting to move it in to the back of the web, and was called for offside. Similar to their only prior excellent chance of the game, it came very briefly before a Chelsea target. Schwazer made a very good save well on Victor Moses in the 71st second, but Chelsea made the all of the following place. Fernando Torres got on the end of the near-post in-swinger and nodded to the trunk post, where Terry was there to finish it off, doing a brace and sealing Chelsea's gain.
