NBA Playoffs 2013: Nets vs. Bulls Eastern Convention 1st-Round Critique

If the Brooklyn Nets and Chicago Bulls tip off their Eastern Conference first-round series on Saturday night, lovers will dsicover a struggle between two very diverse styles of play. The Brooklyn Nets are concerning the crime. Brought by Deron Williams at the point, Brooklyn can perform a faster rate than Chicago and just try to overcome them offensively. Detroit can enjoy a much slower tempo and count on their protection to grind the game out against the Nets. The Bulls are fit by that style of play perfectly. The Bulls are packed with excellent people, but because Derrick Rose has been out all year, they're missing that one certainly professional player. This is a complete breakdown of the first-round matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls. What You Need to Learn Seeds:AChicago Bulls No. 5;ABrooklyn Nets No. 4 Records:AChicago Bulls 45-37;ABrooklyn Nets 49-33 Time series:AChicagoABulls won 3-1 Playoff schedule:ASaturday, April 20, 8 p.m. ET (ESPN ); Game 2 Monday, April 22, 8 p.m. ET (TNT ); Game 3 Thursday, April 25, 8:30 p.m. ET (NBA TELEVISION ); Game 4 Saturday, April 27, 2 p.m. ET (TNT ); Game 5 Monday, April 29, TBD; Game 6 Thursday, May 2, TBD; Game 7 Saturday, May 4, TBD (TNT) Bruce Bennett/Getty Photographs Largest Key for the Nets: Use Your Celebrity There's undoubtedly that the most effective player on the court in this series will be Deron Williams. Williams features a great capability to not merely get his teammates involved in the game as the point guard, but also to take the game over by himself on the end. The Bulls will work things out contrary to the Nets by slowing things down and extending assets. When Williams begins to get warm from the floor, its defense will be used by Chicago to get the ball out of his hands and transfer the ball around to his teammates. When Williams goes cool from the ground, its defense will be used by Chicago to keep the ball in his hands and drive him to attempt to make hard pictures. Fortunately for Brooklyn, Williams may intensify against this tough defense. The ball can be distributed by him to his teammates and when he is asked he can make the difficult shots. If Williams plays like the star he is, he'll give a substantial advantage to Brooklyn over the Bulls. Biggest Key for the Bulls: A Star Has to Appear With Derrick Rose injured, the Bulls do not have a true superstar on the team. With a fantastic cast of people that features Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, Kirk Hinrich and Nate Robinson, someone from this combination will need to step up. The Bulls may rely heavily on their protection like I mentioned before, but ultimately in this line Deron Williams is going to have a game at a time, and somebody on the Chicago finish is going to have to answer back. Bruce Bennett/Getty Images The Bulls have a really strong and well-balanced group, but down the stretch in critical situations someone will have to intensify if they want to advance past the Brooklyn Nets and right through to the following round. Essential Matchup: Deron Williams versus Bulls Defense Kirk Hinrich and Nate Robinson can draw the job of attempting to decelerate Deron Williams through the span of this line. Williams has the ability to not merely be a volatile scorer, but also to get his teammates concerned. The Bulls were able to use the mix of Hinrich and Robinson to slow Williams down throughout the regular season, and why they'd accomplishment against Brooklyn, winning three of the four regular-season matchups which was. If Williams is able to turn in a few major activities, the Bulls may not have the offensive firepower to keep up with the Nets; consequently they're likely to have to keep him in balance throughout much of the series. Forecast Fundamentally, the Chicago defense was too strong for the Nets to overcome in the regular season, and for them to overcome in the postseason it will be too strong. The Bulls will be able to decelerate the tempo throughout the line to a rate that they like, and by keeping the activities low-scoring will be able to persevere against the Brooklyn Nets. It'll maybe not be easy, though. Deron Williams and Joe Johnson have the firepower to keep the Nets fighting through seven tough games. Bulls in Seven Activities
