Jack Sampson on trial at Tranmere?

It is a little bit of a fascinating one. Young Bolton Wanderers striker Jack Sampson is in a Tranmere Rovers reserve squad and they are calling a trialist to him inside their match against Walsall. Sampson is still under contract at Bolton, having closed an offer in January 2012. Sampson came up through the Bolton Wanderers childhood process and has spent time on loan away from the club, including spells at Southend United, and, lately, Accrington Stanley. That last loan was just for monthly, in October, 2012. Sampson created six appearances for Stanley in the FA Cup and League Two and didn't handle an objective. Why is this exciting is that Sampson has been presenting in Bolton U21 games of late, the most up-to-date fit was on 4 March draw away to Crystal Palace, the gain against Bury (that featured Stu Holden, Medo Kamara, David Wheater, and Matt Mills, among others), and the away draw at Manchester City (that found Jan Gregus hit that goal). He didn't participate in yesterday's damage to Stoke City. Sampson hasn't made a senior look for Bolton. Thanks to Matt Wood for spotting this.
