As it didn't go further far from the Premier League relegation zone a inefficient Aston Villa was held to a draw at home to Fulham. Even though the Cottagers were not able to create many of their particular, the very first half was performed at a good beat, with the home side creating some good possibilities. The lead thanks were taken by the Villains to Charles NaZogbia, but Fabian Delphas own goal only 10 minutes later prevented them from taking all three items. Both parties began the overall game brilliantly and at a good tempo, although Damien Duff was pushed off in the opening 10 minutes for the guests after putting up with a groin injury. The first potential for the game fell to Villa in the 24th moment as Christian Benteke found herself unmarked five yards out but put his shot within the bar. Moments later, Benteke played a pass to the field from the left to locate NaZogbia, whose half-volley was killed on target but saved wonderfully by Mark Schwarzer. The Villains were very nearly punished because of their wastefulness after 42 minutes, as Dimitar Berbatov took down a pass and saw his lashed chance blocked away byASchwarzer. The goalkeeper was called into action once again with a painful NaZogbia chance in the second, which he palmed away for a large part to help keep the game scoreless at halftime. The 2nd half began likewise, and within 15 seconds of the restart Weimann ploughed forward, together with his placed photo pushing Schwarzer to create a great low save. Only five minutes later Villa was almost tried as Berbatov was performed through but could only direct his photo onto the outside of the post in Fulhamas best potential for the game. The home area was finally rewarded in the moment as the ball broke to NaZogbia after good quality work by Weimann, and the Frenchman curled his shot into the net wonderfully. Going behind did actually galvanize Fulham, and it equalized in the 65th minute as a Bryan Ruiz corner was converted into his own net by Delph at the near post. The Cottagers almost took the lead just five minutes later as Ruiz found replacement Mladen Petric, but he couldn't direct his close-range shot on goal under pressure from Matthew Lowton. Delph then had a chance to atone for his early in the day own goal in the second as he found himself free at the back post but hammered his shot well over the bar. Follow GOAL.COM on Facebook
