Jordan Cameron has 26 catches for 259 yards and one touchdown in two NFL seasons, but the 6'5'', 245-pound former fourth-round pick has a legitimate chance to experience a breakout season in 2013 with the Cleveland Browns.
At the 2011 combine, then at 254 pounds, Cameron ran a 4.59 in the 40-yard dash and had an impressive vertical leap of 37.5 inches.
But probably more importantly, after Cameron took two years to learn the nuances of playing the position at the NFL level, the new coaching staff is extremely pro-tight end.
He did a remarkable job tailoring an offensive system to accentuate Cam Newton's strengths while masking his deficiencies as a rookie, and Chudzinski's early success in Carolina likely helped his candidacy for the Browns gig.
In Newton's special debut season, his two tight ends, Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey, were focal points of the offense.
In 2007 as Browns offensive coordinator, under Chudzinski's watch, tight end Kellen Winslow had the best statistical season of his career with 82 grabs for 1,106 yards and five touchdowns.
Safe to say, the new head coach in Cleveland has had vast success developing and integrating tight ends into his offensive attack.
Chudzinski's scheme is based on a multitude of vertical passes, but he certainly values tight ends and loves to highlight them.
With the strong-armed Brandon Weeden entering his second season, and with an assortment of skill-position talent around him, the athletic Jordan Cameron should be excited.
