GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (AP) a Alexis Pinturault of France used a bold second run to win some Sort Of Cup giant slalom Sunday as his nearest German contenders faltered. Pinturault was 2nd following the first heat, behind hometown favorite Felix Neureuther and before Fritz Dopfer. But Dopfer crashed out in the 2nd work and Neureuther made a blunder that lowered him right down to 12th in the position. Germany was seeking its first men's massive slalom success in 40 years. World Cup leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria and world champion Ted Ligety of the Usa profited from the Germans' mistakes to take second and third, respectively. Pinturault clocked a time of 2 minutes, 32.42 seconds for his second win of the season and his first large slalom victory. "I have good memories from Garmisch, I also won the senior giant slalom concept in 2009," mentioned Pinturault, who now has three career World Cup wins. Hirscher changed a stomach disease to give his over all World Cup cause. He was 0.60 moments behind the champion and Ligety was 0.63 back.
